Here's Why Italy Is Nothing Less Than Poetry

They say magic is all about trickery and a dose of witchcraft. Anything, and all of that. Poem, on the other hand, is the extension of a soul; the soul that knows ballerina, blows silver sparkles in the air, plays piano as it sways on the tip of its toe. This soul lives in the realm, where physics has no reach, evil is not a word. Italy is that poem, and a little bit more.

There are a thousand things and more that conspire to make Italy world apart from the normal world, aloha apart from the galaxy. Listing the best things about Italy could mean spending an eternity to jot down a serenade dedicated to the serenade itself; bleeding drunk through and through. Here I try to list a bit of it, with the most of my soul that knows no ballerina, but a little of drunkenness and more.

1. The surreal sea coasts

The sea kisses the beaches of Italy like dusk kisses dawn, it meets for a flash of time, go back again to meet each other again. It’s a consistent rhythm that flows, you know. And on this tune dance the surfers, and the blondes in bikinis, some old men and mermaids.

Best beaches/coastline in Italy: Amalfi Coast, Rimini, Capri, Elba, and Alghero are known for having some of the best beaches in Italy.

2. The romance that blooms here

There is no way romance isn’t derived from Rome itself. There is no way you do not feel the void if you don’t visit Venice with your love, even if your love is pizza (which in Italy won’t leave you stranded at all!)

Most romantic destinations in Italy (other than Rome and Venice): The Cinque Terre, Amalfi Coast, and Tuscany

3. The wine and the wineries

Who isn’t moved by the rouge and the clink of the glasses it’s poured on?! Italy is acclaimed for producing the oldest and best wines in the world.

Some of the best wineries in Italy: Castello di Ama, Castello di Nipozzano and Salcheto Castiglion de Bosco are among the best wineries of Italy (just to name a few).

4. Pizza and all that gastronomical sorcery

Italy is not just about pizzas, spaghetti and gelato. From spices to desserts, you’ll find yourself diving into all of the foodgasm Italy has to offer.

Some of the best dishes of Italy (other than Pizza): Penne alla Vodka, Chicken Saltimbocca, Veal Marsala, Fettucine alfredo..wait let me clean the drool first.

5. The art that flows from the heart

The art of Italy is immaculate, crafted from the fingertips of the artists with wits, precision and unimaginable imagination. You don’t need to be a geeky art aficionado to admire Italy’s art. All you have to do is amble through the museums of Italy, or the streets to the least and your jaws will drop on its own.

Some of the best museums of Italy: Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and Palazzo Pitti, among others.

6. The cars that spell sheer opulence

Lamborghini, that yellow enchantress that make the heart go vroom. Ferrari, the fusion of beauty and beast in itself. Italy’s roads are embellished with automobiles of another dimension.

7. The glam it shows off

Versace, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana- We've heard of it all before. Nobody thinks of Milan alone, glam just comes along. From designer brands to street style, Italy flaunts the best.

Most fashionable cities in Italy: Milan, Naples, Florence, Rome and Venice.

8. The melody in words

Elizabeth Gilbert in Eat, Pray, Love said “For years, I’d wished I could speak Italian—a language I find more beautiful than roses”

And god! She couldn’t be more apt about it. That twisting of tongue, and gestures of hands together make Italian sound like a song and look like a movie.

What else you love about Italy?
